X-Factor is being branded ‘Fix-Factor’ after TV sources reveal that Sunday night’s results show was completely staged.
Viewers were outraged as millions witnessed contestant Treyc Cohen voted off the show in favour of Katie Waissel in what looked like an ‘agonising’ decision for Cheryl Cole.
X-Factor host Dermot O’Leary has revealed that the moment where Cheryl Cole, X-Factor Judge and mentor of the girls category, declined to vote was actually rehearsed in the ad break after agreed in advance that there would be a dramatic standoff between Dermot and Cheryl.
In another revelation, TV sources have said that if the vote had been taken to deadlock, where the contestant who received the lowest number of votes was axed, Katie Waissel would have been out of the competition.
Dermot O’Leary admitted that as soon as producers realised that both of Cheryl’s acts were in the bottom two they decided that they would go with a majority verdict if the judge refused to vote.
Following the revelation, which puts the show in a disturbing light, there have been over a thousand complaints and viewers are calling for Cheryl Cole to be to be sacked from her £1.7 million job. There are increasing numbers of followers for a Facebook group which was set up called ‘sack Cheryl Cole from X-Factor’.
