Aishwarya and Aamir Khan finally bury the hatchet

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has always maintained a respectable relationship with megastar Amitabh Bachchan but the same cannot be said with ‘Bachchan bahu’ Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The face-off started when Ash abandoned Aamir Khan’s project Mangal Pandey at the last minute. At that time, Aamir called up his good friend Rani Mukerji, who finally appeared in the film.

However, they finally patched up after so many years and that happened at the 10th wedding anniversary of Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle. Ash and Aamir had a cold war, since these years but now they have settled the issues.

Usually, Ash does not stay in any party for more than 10 minutes but when she came to know that Aamir and Kiran Rao are on their way, the beauty queen waited for them to reach the party.

When the couple reached the party, Ash went forward and bonded with the actor like never before. They spoke warmly and discussed about Kiran’s upcoming movie Dhobi Ghat. After spending some time together, Aamir had to leave early. Soon after his exit, Ash also left the party.

A source from the party revealed that both were seen very comfortable with each other and it seemed that they have forgotten the bitter past and planned to move ahead with good will of each other.

Now, when the dup has settled their issues, can we expect any joint project in near future?

Mahesh calls Lara a serial kisser

'Koffee with Karan' has never been frothier than it was on the episode which had the sensational Lara Dutta and her fiancée the tennis ace Mahesh Bhupati.

The hot duo certainly rocked on the show with their great charisma and a bonding that certainly had to be seen to be believed.

Despite the two having completely different backgrounds as far as their careers are concerned, there was not an iota of discomfort between the two as they happily chatted and discussed almost every aspect of the relationship with the very considerate KJO who tried to catch every word the two were saying (even to each other) with utmost interest.

The best part was when Mahesh said that he jokingly called Lara a serial kisser on screen as according to him she had done quite a few of those mushy scenes on screen.

Lara was however quick to point out that this was completely uncalled for as it was Emraan Hashmi who was the title holder in that aspect and not her, moreover she quickly added that such on screen kisses were nothing but as cold as ever-or something to that effect.

On the other hand, Lara also pointed out that when she had first time gone to see Mahesh actually play on international turf, she had sat right on top of the sitting arena thinking that no one could spot her.

But when the match was over she was asked by Mahesh that she had missed an important moment in the match as she had gone to the rest room- this shocked the daylights out of Lara and thus, now whenever she accompanies him for such matches, she dares not to even shift her position on the chair! Phew!

Well, apart from all that the rapid fire round was quite a bombshell and both did do well but it was the first time guest Mahesh Bhupati who won the gift hamper!

Well, so much for the cute pair who are expected to tie the knot in February this year.

Kardashian Sisters Face $75 Million Lawsuit Over Credit Card Deal

The Kardashian sisters are facing a $75 million lawsuit over allegations they breached a contract by distancing themselves from a controversial credit card scheme aimed at kids.

Kim, Khloe and Kourtney fronted the Kardashian Prepaid MasterCard, which allowed parents to give their children a small amount of credit so they can keep track of their finances.

But after a series of extra costs came to light and the attorney general of Connecticut launched a scathing attack on the siblings for promoting the card, the trio decided to end their endorsement deal in November.

Now they have been targeted in a $75 million lawsuit by bosses at the Revenue Resource Group, the company behind the scheme.

In papers filed at a court in Fresno, California earlier this month, the Kardashians are accused of wrecking the company's reputation by quitting their two-year deal, according to TMZ.com.

After link-up with Shahid Priyanka turns poetess

At a recent award show, Priyanka Chopra surprised everyone by reciting self-written shayiris in praise of the bollywood divas

Priyanka Chopra has been more in news recently for her link-ups with Shahid Kapur, but very few people know that she's a budding poetess too.

At a recent women's awards show, Priyanka paid tribute to three senior actresses, Saira Banu, Hema Malini and Madhuri Dixit, by writing a couplet for each of them.

Apparently Priyanka didn't want just a normal song-and-dance routine. A source present at the awards, said, "Priyanka was not happy with the script given by the organisers. Time was running out and the show was about to start.

So she sat with Rowena Baweja, the conceptualiser of the awards and penned down shayiris for all the three B-town divas. In just about an hour, Priyanka put the shayiris together. She also did the voice over for the audio-visuals."

Says a source close to Priyanka, "Priyanka loves writing shayiris and has been writing them for a long time. Recently, she has rediscovered Rumi and Ghalib. Over the past year or so Priyanka has been quietly writing poetry when she feels like it.

She doesn't talk much about it as it is a very private part of her life."

But the actress hasn't been able to write much though. Priyanka's friend said, "Priyanka hasn't had much of a chance in the past few years to pen her poetry because she's been working hard.

She's doing films and endorsements and it is difficult to pen sensitive stuff with so many things happening. This is the first time that she has come out and recited the couplets on stage."

Monica: I have surprised myself with DHOBI GHAT

MONICA DOGRA IN DHOBI GHAT

It is a known fact that Monica Dogra, the debutant leading lady of Aamir Khan's 'Dhobhi Ghat', has been a prominent member of the band 'Shaa'ir + Func' and has cut a few albums in the past. In fact she recently sung the stunning 'Dooriyaan' for BREAK KE BAAD as well which, unlike the film, has stayed on to be popular till date. As a follow up to that when a call for acting came in for DHOBI GHAT, the young woman couldn't help but bite the bait.

With a strong presence that her character boasts right through this film which is now ready for theatrical release in India after making the rounds of the festival circuits, one wonders if Monica ever realised the enormity of the platform when she actually began to shoot for DHOBI GHAT.

"Not really actually", Monica says in a cautions tone, "You know what, my situation in case of DHOBI GHAT was quite curious actually. I have been extremely interested in music and played with 'Shaa'ir + Func' for four years now. In many ways I am very happy with my career in music. It is art that excites me, whether it is music or acting. As long as I can get a special change in the world regardless of the capacity that I can contribute, it would be worth it."

But didn't she miss her team from 'Shaa'ir + Func' while shooting for the film? After all from being a live performer, she was suddenly getting into a more rehearsed environment?

"As I stated earlier, it is all about the different formats of art that you are a part of at any given point in time", says Monica who has cut a few albums via her band in the past, "I have always been an actor; it's just the platform that differs. It's eventually about changing people's minds and pushing things forward. I have always aspired to do great things and working really hard since I was very-very young. With my first feature film now, I have happily surprised myself. More than just being an actor in the film, I am glad that a film like this has been made."

The countdown is on to the unveiling of Madame Tussauds latest Bollywood star as the world famous attraction gets ready to welcome Hrithik Roshan, who will come face to face to his new wax figure on 20th January in London.

Aishwarya avoids awkward moment with Salman

At the Star Screen Awards, the actress enters a lounge only to exit quickly after spotting Dabangg star relaxing there with friends At the recently held 17th Annual Star Screen Awards, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan avoided a potentially awkward moment with Salman Khan, with dignity and some quick thinking.

A source present at the event said, "The closing act of the awards was performed by Aishwarya on many of her popular hits.

As she reached the backstage much ahead of time for her performance, she decided to rest at the nearby lounge till her performance was announced.

But before Ash could enter the lounge she bumped into Vidya Balan and the two exchanged pleasantries for some time.

After her conversation Ash went inside, glanced around and was seen walking out of the room swiftly. Ash stood quietly outside and refused to budge till her performance was announced."

When the organisers of the show, Cineyug, and the people around were wondering about the reason for Ash's sudden exit, Salman Khan was suddenly spotted casually strolling out of the lounge.

"It was obvious that Salman was inside (the lounge) but Ash with her usual poise, assessed a potentially embarrassing situation and left quickly thus averting it completely.

After Salman left, a crew member rushed to Aishwarya and told her that she could now probably go and relax at the lounge but Ash refused and stayed outside, " the source said.

The source also informed that while Aishwarya rushed out from the lounge, Salman appeared to be perfectly calm and collected even after spotting his ex-girlfriend.

"Salman has moved on and has no issues about bumping into anyone anywhere. He was relaxing with some friends and when he spotted Ash, he appeared unmoved and continued with his conversation."

Kareena and Rani to play sex workers in Kamathipura

We all identify Bollywood actor Aamir Khan with the perfectionist tag, which he very religiously maintains in his professional life. And it is this perfectionism that it is getting reflected in his forthcoming movie with director Reema Kagti.

According to reports in the media, the upcoming Bollywood film has already achieved a casting coup of sorts with the presence of stars like Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor and it is now being said that Aamir Khan is leaving no stone unturned to assure that his film remains very close to real life.

Particular shots of the Reema Kagti venture may be shot in a red light area on the insistence of Aamir Khan.

It is being said that one of the leading ladies in the film will play the role of a sex worker and it is for this purpose that Aamir Khan wants the filming of the scenes involving the sex worker to be completed at the red light area of Kamathipura, a fact which is not going down well with director Reema Kagti and producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar.

Media reports suggest that the crew of the upcoming Aamir – Rani – Kareena starrer are busy in trying to convince Aamir Khan that realism is always not good, because their filming in a brothel area may land the lead actresses in danger.

Whether Mr. perfectionist Aamir Khan will be convinced or not is a matter that we will get to know later. The audience is nevertheless eagerly waiting for a release that boasts of such great actors.

95-year-old MF Husain's new muse: Anushka Sharma

95-year-old has seen her latest movie 8 times at last count... Interestingly, he doesn't need glasses to watch her!

After Madhuri Dixit, Tabu and Amrita Rao, M F Husain has found a new muse in Anushka Sharma.

At last count, the celebrated artist had seen her film Band Baaja Baaraat eight times and was looking forward to several more repeat viewings.

The 95-year-old finds the movie fascinating. Husain who now lives in Doha in Qatar and travels to Dubai often has been catching up on Maneesh Sharma's movie with his family and close friends.

And interestingly, when he watches the flick, he does not put on his spectacles. He has been claiming that ever since he saw Anushka, his vision has improved!

On New Year's Day, Husain watched the film with his close pal, Mumbai-based businessman Munna Javeri, who was visitng him in Dubai.

"In the cinema hall I was shocked to seen him remove his glasses, " says Javeri. "He knew all the dialogues and he viewed the film like a painting filled with colours. If only he had a brush in hand"

My take

Speaking from Dubai, Husain says, "It's still running to packed halls in its fourth week. Anushka was okay in the Shah Rukh starrer Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, but in Band Baaja Baaraat she has proved what an intelligent actor she is.

She knows what subtle acting is all about. Even Ranveer Singh is good."

He feels the movie has a crisp, well-written script and the second half springs a twist. "It is a simple subject without any complications. This is what leading filmmakers must learn who unnecessarily complicate their movies."

Previoulsy he was fascinated by Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Vivaah which had marriage as their themes. And so does Band Baaja Baraat. "It's not that because they are all wedding related. It is because they celebrate life and colours which I cherish, " adds Husain.

He plans to see the movie as many times till it runs there. And next time when Anushka is in Dubai or Doha, she is sure to have a portrait of hers presented by the celebrated artist!

FACT: M F Husain has watched the Madhuri Dixit-starrer Hum Aapke Hain Koun 73 times and Amrita Rao-starrer Vivaah 20 times.

Lara and Mahesh Bhupathi wed on Feb 19, Its Officially Declared

It is final for now that India's ace tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi is getting married with Lara Dutta in a plush hotel in Goa on Feb 19.

Bhupathi, who is now here, recently divorced Shweta Jaishankar, to resume his second innings in conjugal life, media reports said on Thursday.

Both Lara and Mahesh love Goa and they have decided to spend their holidays there to make the wedding memorable.

Earlier, Lara was in serious relationships, first with Kelly Dorje and then with Dino Morea.

But both did not work out, the reports said.

Hit Anushka gets her place in Patiala House with Akki

Anushka Sharma has taken precedence in new posters in stead of Rishi Kapoor

The first look poster of Nikhil Advani's Patiala House was to initially feature only Akshay Kumar and Rishi Kapoor as the film focuses on the emotional father-son relationship that their characters share.

However, after the recent success of Band Baaja Baaraat, the makers have decided to chuck it and use the Anushka-Akshay jodi to promote the film.

A source reveals, "Though there's a parallel track of cricket and supporting characters, the central theme is the father-son (Akki plays Gattu while Rishi plays his Bauji) relationship.

The initial poster was made keeping this sentiment in mind. Their strategy was to promote the film as a father-son story with lot of emotional drama."

The marketing team of the film will now be using the poster with Akki and Anushka to promote it. It is believed that things changed with the success of Yash Raj's Band Bajaa Baaraat.

"After the positive response to Anushka, the makers decided to pitch the film as a love story between Akshay and her rather than a dad-son drama.

As a result the poster also underwent a change with Rishi going in the background with rest of the cast."

However, director Nikhil Advani claims they always had option of using many posters, "Anushka is a great actress and we are happy that she is a part of Patiala House.

She has proved her talent and charm in her recent hit as well.

So all in all, it's going to be a good experience in Patiala House. Plus, using multiple posters to draw in the audiences was always part of our strategy."

It's Official: Katrina and Abhishek reunite

For AB's Baby's first out-and-out comic role which will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi

It looks like Raj Kumar Santoshi will be directing the junior instead of the senior Bachchan first. With Santoshi's Power (starring Amitabh Bachchan) on hold, the versatile director has now quickly moved to another quirky comedy a la Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani.

The untitled film will feature Abhishek Bachchan in his first out-and-out comic role, opposite Katrina Kaif thereby putting to rest all rumours about Katrina being reluctant to work with Junior B.

Maintains Kaif, "I had done one of my earliest films (Sarkar) with Abhishek. And it was great fun. Somehow subsequent projects didn't work out. I had decided whenever I work with him again, it would be in an out-and-out romantic subject."

Says Santoshi, "I've worked with Amitji before in Family and Khakee. But I've still not worked with Abhishek. I am really looking forward to directing him for the first time.

In him, I see great-untapped potential and a hunger to excel. There's a very mischievous side to his personality, which has not been tapped in any film. I think Abhishek has great comic potential. When I wrote this script I thought of him immediately." The untitled film will be produced by Santoshi and will go on the floors early next year.

Adds the filmmaker, "I've done two comedies before (Andaaz Apna Apna and Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani). Both were warmly accepted. This will be my third. I can't wait to get started."

Shedding clothes is a public demand: Tanushree DuttaBollywood bombshell Tanushree Dutta feels that actresses are asked to shed inhibitions in front of the camera mainly to cater to the public demand and not because the script demands it.

"Actually, when people come to you with the line that shedding of inhibitions is the demand of a particular screen role, they are actually pandering to the public demand. Words like demand of the role or the character are all trash, " Tanushree told in an interview.

Asked whether she is ready to shed clothes if the character required that, Dutta said: "In Bollywood, people have been making movies for more than half a century and they are made in such a way that you need not shed off all your inhibitions. I would really draw the line. I am no more a newcomer in Bollywood."

Tanushree had won the Femina Miss India Universe title in 2004, and made her entry into Bollywood in 2005 with the hit film "Aashiq Banaya Aapne". She starred in "Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets" the same year, and came to be considered one of tinsel town's dark horses.

But she failed to live up to the initial expectations of her fans as most of her films except "Dhol" and "Bhagam Bhag" bombed at the box office.

Asked about the fate of most of her films, the former beauty queen said: "To what extent a film works is beyond me. My first film 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' did wonders at the box office. Then 'Chocolate' was also quite popular, but it didn't have the same effect as the first one.

"I just look at my work and of course it's my responsibility to sign good films so as to make sure that people come to watch. But sometimes there are lots of things which are not in our hands. I always try to do the best I can. Some movies work, some movies don't, " said the 26-year-old actor.

spending more than five years in Bollywood, and with an experience of working in nearly 12 Hindi and Telugu films, Tanushree now wants to do something different.

"At this point of time I really want to do a historical movie. May be it's going to take some time. I have covered various genres. I have done romantic, psycho-thriller, thriller, crime based, comedy, romantic comedy. Now I want to do a periodical. I also want to do a musical film, " she said.

Tanushree nurtures a dream of working on a hardcore subject and literature-based Bengali film in the coming years, but says that she hasn't got an impressive offer yet.

"I have always wanted to work in a Bengali film. But till date I haven't got that kind of offer that would impress me.

"Bengali filmmakers have come up with subjects that are so touchy and hardcore. Literature- and sahitya-based movies are made here. I want to work in literature-based movies in Bengal as this is the specialty of the Bengali film industry, " said Tanushree, who has completed a month-long acting workshop in the US.

Tanushree said she wants to sign movies, but she doesn't have the "psychology" of having back-to-back releases in a short span.

"I am planning to sign movies. Actually I don't have that psychology of having two back-to-back releases in three months. I don't know what I am going to sign next or when I am going to sign next. But one thing I can guarantee, that it's going to exciting, " said Tanushree.

The spotlight is on Katrina Kaif these days. The media's prying eyes in Katrina's private life seems to drive her nuts. After rumours of a split between Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina, Bollywood were buzzing with rumours that Katrina was probably trying to make her relationship work with her ex boyfriend, Salman Khan.

Quite a number of celebrities from tinsel town had flown to Dubai to celebrate the New Year and Salman was also one of them. Rumours were rife that Katrina will probably bury the past and join Salman in Dubai for the festivities.

However, Katrina seems to be visibly upset with the news when the media confronted her with the gossips of celebrating Salman Khan's birthday in Dubai.

Katrina seem to be fuming in anger and remarked that she had no clue as who was responsible for spreading such gossips about her. Katrina further added that she was in Mumbai as she was busy rehearsing for an awards ceremony.

Katrina also added that the question of going to Dubai does not arise as she always makes time for her family in London whenever she gets a break from her professional commitments.

Katrina further commented that to meet Salman, she could always make a visit to his home in Mumbai as he is like family to her.

Katrina also cleared the air when she commented that her relationship will Salman would remain the same irrespective of their personal lives. Salman will be close to Katrina even if they both decide to date somebody else. The truth is yet to be unfolded.

Obviously, it was not without reason. Khan, who is known for his whacko and weird sense of humour, drove the actress to the edge. He made digs at her about working with Ranbir Kapoor, her favourite co-star Akshay Kumar and even her ability (or rather inability?) to speak Hindi. Though it was all in good fun, the pressure of being on national TV with her former flame, was just too much for the actress and she just snapped after a point. Says a source, "Before the shoot, things appeared extremely cool. When Farah and Katrina arrived on the sets, Sallu played the perfect host. They even indulged in a game of cricket at his chalet, near the Bigg Boss house. While Farah chose to be a spectator, Kat did a bit of batting while Salman bowled. Everything looked fine but once the cameras rolled, so did the host's witty remarks which were outright sarcastic." Adds the source, "As Farah stepped inside the Bigg Boss house, Kat was left alone on stage for a greater part of the show. At first, she played along but after a point she couldn't take his digs." She broke down and retreated to her make-up room. When she returned, the portions were re-shot. The offending parts were not aired. Farah maintains, "Katrina did not show that she was upset by Salman's comments at least not in front of me. I reached the sets late, so I don't know what happened before." Candice Boucher plays a sand artist in upcoming spy flick Candice Boucher, a South African Playboy hottie who features in Percept's untitled next, essays the role of a sand artist in the espionage drama. Directed by Prashant Chaddha (Aap Ka Surror), the film stars Sachin Joshi (the Managing Director of an energy drink endorsed by Shah Rukh Khan) and Arya Babbar. The beauty had to train from a professional artiste for the role. She says, "Learning from a sand artiste from Belarus was an amazing experience. It's an intricate art more difficult than oils and watercolours on canvas as sand keeps shifting all the time. One's concentration has to be sharper and more focussed." As reported 'Playmate on board' (Hitlist, June 11), Candice was the nude centrespread attraction of Playboy magazine for April 2010 and is also the brand ambassador for an international jeans brand. She was signed for the film during the FIFA World Cup in June (it was held in her home country) to up the project's glam quotient. In the last two months, Ranbir -Katrina have had many arguments and fights due to his growing proximity with the newcomer. A source reveals, "Kat feels that Ranbir isn't coming clean about his relation with Nargis. While he maintains they are working co-stars, she can sense there's more. The growing tension between the two got public when the Kapoor lad was heard screaming into the phone on the Rockstar set with Kat at the other end of the line. Sajan re jhooth... Kareena-Saif stay together in 300 year old Swiss chalet

The eco-friendly couple will be staying in a 300-year-old chalet that runs on solar energy

Kareena Kapoor loves being eco-friendly. She left last night for Switzerland on a 10-day trip with beau Saif Ali Khan.

The couple will be staying at a chalet-hut owned by the Gstaad Palace which runs on solar energy.

Says a source, "Bebo and Saif believe in preserving the eco-system in their own way. Last year, she had promoted eco-friendly handbags. Every year, they re-cycle their fir trees during Christmas.

This year, Kareena and Saif will be staying for a few days at the Gstaad Palace in Switzerland and then shift to a wooden hut (the Walig Hut) built like a small 18th century chalet at 5000 feet above sea level.

The 300-year old hut has been carefully restored with basic plumbing and solar-powered electric lighting. Saif loves skiing, so every year the couple have been spending their New Year's on the Swiss Alps."

The chalet-hut is very expensive costing over £1, 000 per night for two adults. This includes a sumptuous three-course meal with wine and champagne.

The hut's back-to-nature experience is an attraction to people who normally live their lives in comfort.

The couple will initially spend a few days at the Tower Suite in the Gstaad Palace. "The Gstaad Palace offers a breathtaking view of the majestic Swiss Alps and is one of Saif's favorite hotels.

A wide variety of activities such as golf, heli-skiing, hot-air-ballooning et al are available near the hotel."

They met up for lunch yesterday and spent the whole day together catching up."
